It's official!

My bio has been posted on the station website so that makes it official! I'm officially a producer/reporter for KYMA-TV News 11 in Yuma, AZ.

Here's the link to my stories: http://www.kyma.com/framed.php?extURL=http://www.kyma11.com/newsteam2.html

This week I anchored the morning show twice, interviewed Nick Lachey via satellite, and survived my first breaking news live shot!

New city, new blog

Sorry it has been so long since my last blog post. Don't worry, the adventure is not over!

I've been hired as a producer for KYMA-TV NBC News 11 in Yuma, AZ and I've spent the last three weeks preparing for the move.

You can find my first story at http://www.kyma.com. It's called "Lee Hotel for Sale" and my stand-up is in a "haunted" hotel room.

So...from Division I student-athlete to NBC Universal fellow to my latest title - producer...I think it's appropriate to start a new blog. I'm not sure what I'll call it yet, but probably something along the lines of "What's Hot in Yuma, AZ" where I will post links to my work and share stories about this unique market. Located about three hours away from Phoenix and San Diego, it covers news from Arizona, California, Mexico, and the United States.

Stay tuned...the link to my new blog will be coming soon!

Back in Phoenix!

I had a nice flight back to the West Coast last night and was welcomed by the dry Phoenix heat. It's good to be home.

My week in Boston was busy, but fun! I was there for the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) Convention and had the opportunity to participate in the Convention News Project. It wouldn't have been possible without the support and hard work of the AAJA and all of the mentors and professionals who volunteered their time to make this project happen. We are so proud of what we accomplished.

Here's the direct link to all of my stories. My favorite reports are "Reporters Who Tweet" and "Boston Duck Tours."

Please also check out the story AAJA Voices reporter I-Ching did on the hotel's pillow library. She has me in her piece...it's really funny:

Hello Boston!

Hello Boston! Whew! From Arizona to New York and now Massachusetts...it has been quite the adventure. My fellowship with the TODAY Show ended on Friday, I packed and attempted to cover the small plane and helicopter crash on Saturday, checked out of my apartment/dorm on Sunday, and BAM! Two suitcases and a positive attitude later...I'm in Boston. I'm here for the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) Convention and will be here for one week. I'm one of 12 students selected to work on the Convention News Project which means I'm reporting for the the Convention's AAJA Voices newsletter. Check out my Twitter story @
